Computer recycling that starts with data security

HTL 365 retires your old computers, servers and network gear the secure way: data is destroyed first, then equipment is recycled responsibly. You get pickup, documentation and a certificate of destruction instead of a closet full of old hardware.

Community recycling drives

We help Houston churches and community groups give members a safe way to get rid of old computers.

Westbury United Methodist Church, Houston

October 3, 2026

The need: Church members and neighbors had old computers, phones and printers sitting in closets and garages, many with personal data still on them, and no safe, convenient way to get rid of them.

What we did: We set up a drop-off outside the church during its pumpkin patch day. Members, neighbors and pumpkin patch visitors drove up with laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, monitors and printers, and many came out simply to support their church. Every device was tagged and logged by serial number on the spot. Back at our facility, data was wiped or drives were destroyed following NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2, working devices were refurbished for reuse, and the rest was recycled responsibly.

The need: The church wanted to give members and neighbors a safe, responsible way to get rid of old electronics, as part of its Red, White & Blue celebration.

What we did: We ran a half-day electronics recycling drive alongside the celebration. Members of the church and the wider community brought in old computers and electronics, and every device was logged before leaving the event. Data was wiped or drives were destroyed following NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2, and everything else was reused or recycled responsibly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know my data is really gone?

Every drive is wiped or physically destroyed following NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2, and you get a certificate of destruction listing each serial number.

What equipment do you take?

Laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, hard drives, SSDs, phones, tablets and network equipment, working or not. We don't take TVs; please drop those off at a City of Houston recycling center. Ask us about anything else.

How much does it cost?

Pickup is free. Equipment with resale value can even earn you money back. Contact us for a free quote.

How does pickup work?

We come to you. Schedule a pickup and our team will collect your equipment from your office anywhere in the Greater Houston area. There's no need to pack, haul or drop anything off.

What paperwork do I get for compliance?

A certificate of destruction, an itemized asset list and a chain-of-custody record: the records auditors, insurers and regulations like HIPAA and IRS rules ask for.

What happens to my old equipment?

Once the data is destroyed, usable equipment is refurbished and reused. Everything else is recycled responsibly, so nothing goes to a landfill. This process is called IT asset disposition (ITAD).
